Upload your first catalog

Load a small example catalog from start to finish in Sandbox.

Follow along once, start to finish, in a Sandbox tenant. You'll load a small example catalog (5 products, 3 offerings, 4 rates) and learn the whole flow. Afterwards, use the Catalog template reference for your own catalog. It takes about 20 minutes.

You need:

  • A Sandbox tenant (a Test badge appears at the bottom of the left rail).
  • The Tenant Admin or Billing Admin role.

The example business, Acme Analytics, sells:

ProductTypeSold in offering
Analytics PlatformSubscriptionAnalytics Pro (required)
Analyst SeatSubscriptionAnalytics Pro (required)
API CallsUsageAnalytics Pro (optional)
Implementation ServicesOnetimeImplementation Package

Usage products

Because API Calls is a Usage product and the row had no Usage Type IDs, MonetizeNow also created a usage type with the same name (unit "Unit", 0 decimal places).

Step 2: Create offerings

  1. Collapse Add Products and expand Create Offerings.

What you learned

  • The order is products → offerings → rates. Download each template after the previous upload.
  • Templates fill in IDs for you from their Values sheet.
  • Offerings group by Offering Name. Rates group by Offering + Rate Name + Billing Frequency + Subscription Timing.
  • Every upload shows a preview first. Nothing is created until you click Confirm.

Next: Undo a catalog import to clean up this practice run.
