Quote Templates
The Quote Templates page allows admin control of which quote customization options each role can see and change, preventing or allowing reps to alter quote formatting and content sections.
For each section in the Quote Customize Settings menu, such as Billing Schedule, Pricing
Details, or Discounting Details, admins can set:
- Default value: whether that section should be on or off for newly created quotes.
- Access by role: whether each role can edit the toggle, view it as read-only, or have it
hidden entirely.
Changes to default behavior does not affect existing quotes - only newly created quotes will be created with the configured defaults.
How to Configure
- These controls are located under Settings > Quote Templates.
- Each quote section is listed with its default toggle and an expandable role access panel. Expand
a section to configure its default value and per-role access.
Default Value
- The default value determines whether a quote section is enabled or disabled on newly created
quotes. This sets the starting state for reps, but they can then change it themselves if their role
permits.- Example: Setting Discounting Details to off by default means new quotes will not show discount
information unless a rep or admin explicitly enables it on that quote.
- Example: Setting Discounting Details to off by default means new quotes will not show discount
Access
- Access by role controls what each role can do with the toggle for that section. You can apply
one setting to all roles at once, or configure each role individually.- All Roles: applies the same access level to every role. Use this for settings that
should be uniformly editable, read-only, or hidden across the org. - Specific Roles: opens per-role dropdowns so each role can be configured
independently.
- All Roles: applies the same access level to every role. Use this for settings that
- Access Levels
- Editable: The toggle is visible and the role can turn it on or off on a quote.
- Read-Only: The toggle is visible but the role cannot change it from the default.
- Hidden: The section and its toggle are not visible to the role at all.
Note: If a user belongs to more than one role, the most permissive setting across those roles
applies. For example, if a user is both Sales Rep (Hidden) and Sales Admin (Editable), they will see
the toggle as Editable.
