Start Date and Contract Length

Learn how to customize the start date of a contract as well as its length

Contract Start Dates

Within MonetizeNow the start date of a contract can be either static or dynamic. There are three states you can choose from that define the start date of a contract

Editable until Drafted

Editable until drafted means that you can change the static start date of a quote until your quote enters the approval stage. Once the quote has started going through approval processes the start date is locked in and cannot be changed unless you go back to editing your quote.

Set by Signature Date

While you'll still enter a tenative start date for your quote under the start date section pictured above, the date that MonetizeNow captures as the actual start date for your contract will be the date the quote is signed. MonetizeNow will read your quote as signed if you've either "Manually Accepted" the quote or received an e-signature through one of our e-sign integration partners.

📘

Due to limitations with editing signed PDFs outside of MonetizeNow's control the date on the PDF will only show the estimated start date. However, we include language automatically on your signed contracts that the true start date is the signature date. In addition, the date will be updated on the back end of MonetizeNow with the signautre date being the start date.

Editable after signature

This setting allows you to change the start date of your quote after a document is signed and before it is processed (which turns it into a contract)

Contract Length & End Dates

Defining your contract length in MonetizeNow is completely customizable. However, you have the ability to restrict your sales team from making changes if you choose.

Any number of months

This option allows your sales team to choose any contract length of 19 months to even a short co-termed contract of 2 weeks and a day.

Whole years only

This option allows your sales team to only choose whole year increments for any and all of their quotes (i.e. 12, 24, 36 months).
